Naturally dyed alizarin-red khadi cotton, hand-spun and handwoven in north Gujarat, forms the body of this light, generously sized shawl. Bands of ikat and Toda embroidery are carefully assembled across it in our studio.
The embroidery features Peerssh pukhoor, the Toda motif of the sun’s rays, worked in red and black. Fully reversible, the shawl has a soft, easy drape and can be worn from either side.
Each shawl comes in a reusable cotton bag, together with a note about its makers and Toda embroidery.
