The pukhoor of rosettes draws from wildflowers of the hills, while the edge motif references mishpuum, a yellow fruit found in the Shola forests of the Nilgiris.
The fabric is markedly finer than the traditionally used coarse cotton, requiring precision and care in every counted thread. Each piece takes several days of sustained handwork to complete.
Packed in a reusable muslin bag hand-painted by Kurumba artists of the Nilgiris, whose visual language continues to document tribal life and ritual.
